Resident education

The advantage of our early involvement has become clear as the parking scheme is completely embedded in the development communications and residents are fully aware of all parking terms and conditions prior to purchase. As such, PCM has been able to educate residents with regard to the parking management system from the outset, thereby preventing any ‘bad habits’ from becoming the norm, as so often happens.

Regular enforcement

Regular patrols to enforce the agreed terms and conditions of parking have been in place from early in the first phase.  It is far better for all concerned that instead of infrequent visit days, PCM operatives patrol regularly at varying times.  Residents are aware of this and adhere to the parking terms and as a result far fewer Parking Charge Notices (PCNs) are issued.

Exemptions

If PCM are advised of busy ‘moving-in’ days, we instruct our operatives to avoid the development over that period. These exemption days respect the fact that removals vans often displace resident vehicles from their allocated parking spaces and as such it would be unfair of us to actively inspect the development over these periods. Staff and contractor vehicle permits are managed using our Virtual Parking application (app). The Abbey Barn Park site management team are able to issue a temporary parking permit via the app, wherever they are, at any time of the day or night.

Visitor parking 

Visitor parking spaces are always a potential hotspot and can cause real stress for residents with bona fide requirements. Abbey Barn Park is the first development to use our recently developed PCM Virtual Visitor Parking (VVP) app. 

The VVP app makes arranging temporary visitor permits a simple 30 second process for the resident.

The app ensures that the visitor bays are not abused by residents using them as an additional resident parking. Which has already resulted in positive comments from management and residents alike.

Moving forwards

Working with the development sales team we prepare parking documentation in advance for each new resident. Documentation and permits are ready for each new arrival as they receive their welcome pack on day 1.
